Chris Irwin Davis has been involved with computers since his childhood where he began programming on devices with punchcards and magnetic core memory. He grew up in a household where his father had been a computer scientist beginning in the early 1960's. Chris went on to work in the pro audio industry for 12 years, consulting with manufacturers, vendors, and end users in the design and operation of both analog and digital audio systems. He then worked as an R&D software engineer and project manager in the telecommunications and semiconductor industries for Nortel Networks and Texas Instruments respectively for a further 12 years.

Chris' education includes a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (summa cum laude) and a Master of Science in Intelligent Systems (4.0 GPA), both from the University of Texas at Dallas. He is now a Ph.D. candidate in UTD's Eric Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science with an expected graduation date in Spring 2011.
