Overview of Department of Homeland Security's Unified Incident Command Decision Support Initiative by Nabil R. Adam
Dr. Nabil R. Adam received his MS, MPhil and PhD degree from Columbia University. He is currently serving as a Fellow at the Science & Technology Directorate of the US Department of Homeland Security. He is a Professor of Computers and Information Systems; the Founding Director of the Rutgers University Center for Information Management, Integration and Connectivity (CIMIC); the Director of the recently established information Technology for Emergency mAnageMent (i-TEAM) Research Laboratory at Rutgers; Co-founder and past Director of the Meadowlands Environmental Research Institute; and past Chair of the MSIS Department a RBS. Dr. Adam has published over 100 technical papers covering such topics as information management, information security and privacy, data mining, Web services and modeling & simulation. His papers appeared in referred journals and conference proceedings including, IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering, IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering, ACM Computing Surveys, Communications of the ACM, Journal of Management Information Systems, and International Journal of Intelligent and Cooperative Information Systems. He has co-authored/co-edited ten books. Dr. Adam is the co-founder and the Executive-Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal on Digital Libraries and serves on the editorial board of a number of journals including Journal of Management Information Systems, and the Journal of Electronic Commerce. He is also the co-founder and past chair of the IEEE Technical Committee on Digital Libraries.

Secure Intellectual Property Management (a corporate view) by Thomas Hill
Thomas Hill, who became an Electronic Data Systems Fellow in 1991, is Director of EDS’ Fellows and Distinguished Engineering Programs for EDS an HP company. As an EDS Fellow, Hill helps to develop enterprise-wide initiatives that shape the future of EDS. He serves on the EDS Corporate Intellectual Property Governance Board. The Fellows organization is responsible for corporate technical thought leadership and for creating innovative revenue-producing service offerings and tools for EDS’ strategic targets, clients and EDS itself.
In addition to fulfilling his professional obligations, Hill is a member of the ACM and the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE). He currently serves on the engineering boards of TCU and the University of Texas at Dallas. He has a BS and MBA in Information Technology, two Microsoft certifications, an open group architecture certification, and is a PhD candidate in software engineering at the University of Texas at Dallas. Hill has written numerous articles and publications. He holds four active patents and has five patents pending.
