Academic Excellence in Information Assurance/Cyber Defense Research

The University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas) has been designated as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance/Cyber Defense Research for academic years 2014-2021. Official letters of notification are being sent to Dr. Kamil Sarac at UT Dallas, the State Governor, Members of Congress, and appropriate Congressional Committees.

Official CAE certificates will be presented at the 18th Colloquium for Information Systems Security Education (CISSE) http://www.cisse.info/colloquium

The certificate ceremony is currently planned from approximately 5:00PM – 7:00PM on Monday, June 16, 2014 at the Hilton San Diego Resort and Spa in San Diego California. Ms. Debora Plunkett, NSA Information Assurance Director, will be presenting the CAE certificates this year.

Dr. Kamil Sarac will accept the award for UT Dallas.  Sarac is an associate professor in the Department of Computer Science.  His research interests include: Computer networks; network and service monitoring and Internet measurements; overlay networks; network security and denial-of-service defense; broadcast in ad hoc networks; group communication and IP multicast.  For more information about Dr. Sarac, visit his website at:  http://www.utdallas.edu/~ksarac/.
