ABOUT US

Formed in 2020 at the world-renowned University of Texas at Dallas – AI center, the Digital Twin Health AI Consortium (DTHAIC) is a multi-disciplinary consortium bringing together Consumer Health, Pharma, Biotech and many other Technology companies across all functional levels to enable research and development in delivering more effective AI-driven Precision Medicine therapies to patients faster.

This collaboration focuses on solving issues common to Industry and Enterprises engaged in Digital Health solutions, Digital Clinical trials, Personalized Drug development, Personalized Treatment therapies, Intelligence Medicine, and Connected Health arenas that cannot be solved by anyone or even a few companies alone.

Members from various industries, including Consumer Health, Pharma, Biotech, and many other technology domains, join hands to develop technical guidance, reference implementations, and set de facto industry guidelines to drive safer and more efficient deployments.

The digital twin is the culmination of AI efforts to produce an individualized, life-long, physiological, and behavioral model of a person. Applications of the digital twin include precise diagnosis and personalized therapy simulation, selection, and outcome prediction.

Precision medicine can vastly improve -- and even save -- the lives of many people, and the use of artificial intelligence can increase those outcomes drastically. Precision medicine, coupled with AI, will make treatments more affordable and accessible to those who may not be able to receive those treatments due to cost and health insurance at this time.

There are many challenges ahead for precision medicine to be practical, but artificial intelligence can help drive us closer to those goals. 

OUR MISSION AND VISION

The mission of the DTHAIC is to work collaboratively to make impactful and novel breakthroughs in a synergistic and innovative environment. Together we hope to accomplish what no single company would consider taking on alone by developing state-of-the-art next-generation Precision Medicine Solutions.

Our vision is to take advantage of high-performance computing capabilities, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) algorithms. The ambition and goals of the Digital Twin Health AI Consortium are to design and optimize the pathway for diagnosis, therapeutic intervention, and prognosis by using large multidimensional datasets that capture individual variability in biological, physiological, and environmental settings. This offers clinicians the opportunity to tailor early interventions more carefully— whether treatment or preventative in nature—to each individual patient.

The Digital Twin Health AI Consortium is open to only relevant businesses, organizations, or entities with an interest in AI-Health care, Precision Medicine, and Health care transformations.

WHAT DOES THE CONSORTIUM DO?

Through group efforts, DTHAIC will examine Health Care complexities and exercise some of the strategies whereby Digital Twin simulations, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning solutions may overcome challenges in offering breakthroughs in predicting risks and prognosis for many medical disorders.

Aim to bridge the gap between patient assessment alterations complexity and modern health care by constructing computational disease models of the altered biological, physiological, behavioral interactions widely across.

We aim to support clinical implementations of digital twins that might require solving a wide range of technical, medical, ethical, and theoretical challenges, not only to improve health care significantly but also to gain an understanding of disease mechanisms and to set new R&D initiatives altogether.

HOW 'DIGITAL TWINS' ARE HARNESSING IOT TECHNOLOGY TO ADVANCE PRECISION MEDICINE

Currently, advanced computer models of diseases are being used to improve diagnosis and treatment. The goal is to develop the models to "digital twins" of individual patients and revolutionize both Health care and Clinical processes. Those digital twins may help to computationally identify and try the best medication before treating a patient.

WHY IT MATTERS

While it may take decades to realize the full impact of precision medicine, in the near term, we will see steady progress in incorporating -omics. Clinicians and patients will need to balance substantial uncertainty across many diseases and still leave room for subjective interpretations nested in these new forms of data. As clinical decision support systems and precision medicine platforms evolve, the burden of accessing and interpreting new insights will be facilitated by better AI-driven Precision Medicine Consortiums like DTHAIC.
