AI, or artificial intelligence, grabbed the attention of every industry in 2023, creating hope for easier, more streamlined work processes and stoking fear that the technology could advance enough to replace employees.
“Accuracy cannot be guaranteed,” said Dr. Gopal Gupta, professor of computer science in the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science, Erik Jonsson Chair and co-director of the Center for Applied AI and Machine Learning at the University of Texas at Dallas. “The next year will be focused on how to build applications that are reliable, that you can actually put in front of customers.”
