UT Dallas Researchers Have Six Papers Accepted Into The #1 Cyber Security Conference
This year, researchers at the UT Dallas Cyber Security Research and Education Institute will have a strong presence at the 24th ACM Conference on Computer and Communications Security (CCS) with six accepted research papers. One hundred and fifty-one papers were accepted at the CCS’17 conference out of 836 submissions. The conference brings together information security researchers, practitioners, developers, and users from all over the world to explore leading-edge ideas and results.
“We have one of the strongest cyber security research group in the world, and this is evident from the six research papers that this group has gotten accepted at the #1 research conference in cyber security research. Our faculty and students have been conducting cutting-edge research in a number of important topics including OS security, programming language security, mobile systems security and hardware security,” notes Dr. Gopal Gupta, the UT Dallas Computer Science Department Head and Erik Jonsson Professor.
Below is the list of CCS’17 accepted papers written by UT Dallas CS professors and their colleagues:
- Chaoshun Zuo, Qingchuan Zhao, Zhiqiang Lin. AUTHSCOPE: Towards Automatic Discovery of Vulnerable Access Control in Online Services
- Fahad Shaon, Murat Kantarcioglu, Zhiqiang Lin, Latifur Khan. A Practical Encrypted Data Analytic Framework With Trusted Processors

“In just over a decade we have put together one of the top Cyber Security Research and Education Institutes which conducts strong interdisciplinary research in several aspects of cyber security including data security and privacy, software systems security, network security, hardware security, cyber physical systems security and data analytics and machine learning for security,” notes Dr. Bhavani Thuraisingham, Director of the UT Dallas Cyber Security Institute and Louis A. Beecherl, Jr. Distinguished Professor.
In addition to the ACM CCS Conference, UT Dallas CS faculty have also published in other highly-selective cyber security conferences such as the IEEE Security and Privacy Research, NDSS, USENIX Security and ACSAC.
